About Us
The Maryland Thoroughbred Partnership
The Thoroughbred industry in Maryland is poised for a defining year in 2025, marking the beginning of a new era of growth, recognition, and innovation. With the running of the 150th Preakness Stakes in May and the subsequent demolition and redevelopment of Pimlico Race Course, the opening of a new training facility at Shamrock Farm, a revamped Maryland Jockey Club overseeing racing operations, and other key advancements, this year will solidify Maryland’s position as a leader in Thoroughbred racing and set the stage for its future success.
The newly formed Maryland Thoroughbred Partnership is launching a comprehensive educational, marketing, and public relations campaign to highlight the significance of the Thoroughbred industry in Maryland. Through dynamic media relations, an engaging digital presence, community-focused events, and strategic networking, this initiative will amplify the industry's cultural, economic, and environmental contributions to the state. By fostering public interest and attracting key stakeholders, we aim to elevate Maryland’s reputation as a leader in the Thoroughbred world.
With industry leaders, enthusiasts, and the broader community working together, this initiative will ensure a thriving future for Maryland’s Thoroughbred industry for generations to come.
The Maryland Thoroughbred Partnership is funded by the Maryland Horse Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Maryland’s equine heritage.
